Vineyard at Porter Central
Our vineyard consists of 300 hybrid vines. We grow three different varietals: Cayuga White, Marquette Red and Catawba Rose. All are climate hardy and can withstand the cooler Ohio winter temperatures. We currently make wine for personal consumption only.
Shetland sheep originated on the Shetland Isles north east of Britain. They are a hardy breed of sheep with the ability to survive in the most difficult of conditions. Shetland sheep are an unimproved breed, and have maintained their primitive characteristics. Known for their easy lambing, the Shetland breed produces high quality wool, and are easier to care for than modern breeds.
